Branch Out and READ!

Branch Out and READ!

This week, we begin a school-wide reading challenge.  All students, from TK to 8th grade, are challenged to read twenty (20) minutes per day.  Read-aloud time with our youngest students counts too!  Please help your child to make time, every day, for reading.  Long winter nights are the perfect time to curl up with a good book.

Every student at St. Perpetua school has a reading goal.  TK and Kindergarten students have reading logs to complete and turn in to their teachers.  First graders are asked to read at least two (2) books per week on Kids A-Z.  All other students have an Accelerated Reader (AR) point goal that is met by reading great books and taking comprehension quizzes.

For more information you can read the flyer or contact your homeroom teacher or Mrs. Hinton, our librarian.

In the meantime, encourage your students to Branch Out and READ!  We would like for every student in the school to meet his/her reading goal.
