Bulletin #7    9/14/16
RISE and SHINE!  This Sunday at 9:30 is our first Rise and Shine Mass of the year.  This joint celebration of school and parish faith formation allows our students to take leadership roles in the Eucharist.  This Sunday, our Jr. High student leaders will assist as we honor our Catechists for Catechetical Sunday.  We hope to see you there!

Please keep our 8th graders in your prayers tomorrow while they are on there retreat at the Marin Headlands.  Our 8th graders have retreat experiences at the beginning and the end of the school year and our prayer is that they will continue to discover and develop their gifts to lead and serve others throughout the school year.

FORE!!!  It is not too late to participate in our annual golf tournament!  Registration can be completed here or if you prefer to volunteer, sign up here.  These proceeds will support ourtechnology needs through out the school including Panther House.

Thanks so to our many wonderful readers this summer, this Friday will be a Black Out Friday. All students may wear BLACK school-appropriate free dress to school and Mrs. Hinton will have activities in the library.

Fun Times in Second Grade

Dear God, we thank you for the many gifts you have given us.  We know that all our blessings come from you.  Help each of us to take time to recognize our gifts, and work toward developing these gifts.  May we be willing to reach out to others and share all that we have been blessed with.
It is in helping others that we gain joy and fulfillment here on earth.  Amen.

Blackout BINGO! Day is Friday
Our entire school will celebrate Blackout BINGO! Day thanks to the many students and staff members who achieved Blackout BINGO's for the Summer Reading Program.  Three staff members and 45 students achieved BINGO! Blackouts!  Wow! Blackout staff members are Mrs. Kozel, Miss Ice, and Mrs. Hinton.  The third grade class wins tickets to the MVP Ice Cream Social for having the most participation in the summer reading program.
Blackout BINGO! Day is this Friday, September 16th.  All students and staff may participate.  Everyone gets to celebrate by wearing black.  Students who earned tickets to the MVP Ice Cream Social need to bring their MVP Ice Cream Social ticket to the amphitheater during recess to select their frozen treat.  All students are invited to the library during recess, where we will be playing a game of blackout BINGO.
Please thank Mrs. Anne Hawkins for organizing and running another successful Summer Reading Program.  Please contact her at annekhawkins@yahoo.com  to volunteer at the Ice Cream social.
You can celebrate your child's birthday and support our school library's fundraiser by joining the Birthday Club.  It's easy to participate.  Birthday Club students select a book to be purchased and donated to the library.  A commemorative nameplate will be placed in the front of the book to honor the student's Birthday.   These donations help us to populate the library with the new, popular books that the kids want to read.  Simply fill out the form and submit it to the front office with a check for $20 per student.  All Birthday Club forms are due in September.  In October, all students will select birthday club donations, regardless of their birth date.  Thank you for supporting our school library and helping kids to easily access the books they want to read.

Family Participation Program
St. Perpetua School relies on parents to share their time, talents and treasures. Volunteer participation is necessary as tuition revenue does not cover operating costs of the school. Parent participation also ensures the success of social events and sustains school programs. Each family is required to complete 35 volunteer hours and report those hours to the volunteer chair, Ellen Drey (ellen.drey@gmail.com).  Click here for detailed information on our program.
As a reminder, you cannot volunteer for any school or class activities (including yard duty) until your are placed on the "all cleared" list by completing three items for the office.   Click here for information on LiveScan fingerprinting, Safe Environment Training, and TB Clearance.
Yard Duty
Each family has received an email to sign up for yard duty shifts on Sign-Up Genius.

Yard Duty Requirements:
  - all families (Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten-only families are exempt) are
